Background and Partner Organisation
The Ecumenical Accompaniment Programme in Palestine and Israel ( EAPPI ) brings together people from around the world who are committed to standing in solidarity for human rights and a just peace. Ecumenical Accompaniers (EAs) spend three months in the programme context, accompanying communities and civil society initiatives, documenting daily life under occupation and providing protective presence where possible. Their observations contribute to the work of local and international partners. After returning home, EAs raise public awareness about the situation on the ground and encourage broader engagement for peace and justice.
The programme is coordinated by the World Council of Churches (WCC). More than 20 countries across Europe, Africa, North and Latin America, and Australia currently participate in EAPPI.
International EAs live in teams in the West Bank and East Jerusalem during their placements as part of the programme. The activities take place in an environment marked by political tensions and a protracted conflict, which calls for a high level of sensitivity and resilience.
As a Team Facilitator, you play a central role : you contribute to the selection and preparation of the teams, accompany both the teams and individual EAs throughout their placement, and provide guidance on issues such as team dynamics or coping with challenging experiences. You mediate in cases of conflict and provide supportive and psychosocial guidance when needed.
You will be based in the EAPPI office in East Jerusalem, where six staff members currently work as part of an inclusive team.
