The Site Manager’s primary function is to organize, drive, and manage the safe and efficient execution of the project. The Site Manager is an authority on Dematic equipment and the knowledgeable point of contact and escalation for (senior) supervisors and the project management team. The Site Manager represents an integral member of the project leadership team and it is their responsibility to ensure that safe, appropriate and optimal site conditions are established that facilitate right first time zero defects installation at the required rate of installation. The Site Manager is also accountable for the accuracy of the short term forecast provided by the subcontractor and for making sure that any constraints limiting productivity are identified early and mitigated to protect productivity during delivery week T-0. The Site Manager is also accountable for the overall reporting of the project in execution.
Site Managers manage and lead the on-site delivery team, educate safety practices on site, and objectively evaluate overall subcontractor performance. The Site Manager owns and authorizes the six-week installation schedule (6WIS) forecast for their project, establishing a coherent, robust and predictable inter-relationship between the 6WIS and the weekly work plan (WWP). The Site Manager must interrogate, understand and support the logic presented in the 6WIS to validate the alignment with the subcontractor that the forecasted targets associated with subcontractor progress are attainable and realistic. A Site Manager should have the ability to accurately identify, anticipate, and mitigate impacts to the schedule to prevent slippage and lost works through the 6WIS review.
Working hours and site location can vary depending on the project and may require working evenings,weekends or even shifts where a project schedule requires management to be in attendance. Under the direction of the Group Leader Site Management and matrixed to the relevant project leadership team, the Site Manager will also be responsible for providing support to the project management team, the commissioning / integration team, and the EHS team on a project. This position will provide management and leadership for the safe coordination of the day-to-day site execution requirements of the specific project to which they are assigned.
Tasks and Qualifications :
Your tasks and responsibilities :
- Be accountable for the overall site safety implementing and presenting the Safety (HSE) Plan, following ONE DEMATIC standard.
- Identify and analyse (potential) problems / risks and opportunities and initiate corrective / preventive measures, providing updates to the project team.
- Direct and influence the agreed sequence and project schedule to optimise installation performance and the realization of opportunities.
- Organise and directs / manages on-site installation activities according to discipline and / or area.
- Review, edit, and be accountable for the consistent and timely generation of reports in the cloud-based site reporting tooling (minimum daily) to a high standard of accuracy on each agreed time period or shift, including accurate, factual, evidence-based content, with relevant focus placed on progress against the plan and events of note.
- Understand the detail scope of works for all subcontracts and manage the successful coordination of activities including negotiating deconfliction of clashes.
- Contribute regularly creating, validating, and amending the project “installation” schedule foreseeing and proactively mitigating any potential schedule impacts.
- Act as the final point of escalation on site for subcontractors for assistance in safety / technical related enquiries.
Your qualification :
- Qualified First Aider (desirable)
- Recognised local H&S qualification at a level to satisfy the requirements of the Site Manager role. E.g. NEBOSH
- Higher Level technical qualification or equivalent local market qualification in relevant engineering or construction discipline. E.g. Higher National Diploma or Higher National Certificate
- Conversant with current European Machinery Directive and statutory standards relevant to material handling solutions preferable
- Skilled with using Microsoft Office
- Experience acting in the role of Principal Contractor or General Contractor or local equivalent
- Experience interfacing material handling solutions into larger multi-disciplinary projects desirable
